There were 39 players in the Saturday and two-day competition, with 42 for Sunday. The Low Gross of Field (153) is Ryan Guttierez playing in his first Men’s Club tournament. Darin Kudrna (156) making a charge on the back nine, got to within one stroke of the leader, but a four-stroke swing on the 16th hole enabled Ryan to win by three strokes.
The Low Net of Field (136) is Allen Phan, also playing in his first weekend Men’s Club event. Doug Jones, second low net, shot a pair of 70s net (140), four strokes behind Allen.
The Senior Gross Champion is Mark Ohrenschall (159), edging out Jeff Schoening (160). They placed third and fourth overall.
Congratulations to the three champions. Low Gross and Net of Field each receive a $40 bonus. Low Gross of Field and Senior Gross Champion are eligible to play in the Champion of Champions tournament next April at The Home Course.
A one-stroke penalty for slow place was assessed to the group of Brian Asplund, Travis Jones, Mark Ohrenschall, and James Wang. They were in place on the 17th tee, but clocked in 23 minutes behind the group in front of them. Because they were in place on the 17th tee, their penalty was reduced from two-strokes to one-stroke.
