Don Hart, former Olympic Hills (Jackson Park) member and 1981 Olympic Hills Golf Club president passed away recently at age 92. Very few know, Don, while club president, built and paid for the two sand traps on the left front side of the 17th hole (No. 8, then). To best of my memory, they were the first bunkers ever at Jackson Park.
Don was a long time OHGC member, but picked up stakes later in his career and joined the Glenacres Golf Golf and Country Club, where he still belonged and lived when he passed. He became a legend at Glenacres Where he will be honored with a wake on July 14th.
Don was a casualty insurance underwriter and owned Allison Agencies on the northwest corner of 42nd and Highway 99. Readers might remember the building. It had a swimming pool open to Aurora on the southeast corner.
