Congratulations to our Jackson Park team for a huge win in the 2017 Seattle Cup. We clinched the victory with a dominant performance in the Sunday Singles at Jackson Park, after entering the final day tied with Interbay. This is our 6th Seattle Cup Championship in the past 11 years!
The depth of our team proved to be the defining factor in this year’s Cup. 20 of 24 team members contributed points toward our victory. The freshman class of Michael Bade, Dave Foreman, Zachary Kathe, and Kathy Wake led the way with 5 victories and 6 points.
We had no fewer than 9 players considered for Seattle Cup MVP. Dave Foreman’s 3 wins, including a 4&3 Singles win over Interbay, ultimately earned him MVP honors. Congratulations, Dave!
Big thanks to Jim Huckabay and John Clements for their contributions to the team. Jim took on additional responsibilities as the on-course Captain, and he provided tremendous leadership to the team. He was also a top performer inside the ropes, with 2 wins and 3 points. He’ll be a worthy Team Captain whenever he decides to take on the role. John is the “Godfather” of the Jackson Park team and always provides great energy and support.
