The format of play for the Net Championship depends on the number of people registering to play. With a full field of 64 players, play begins with sixteen pods of four players each in a round robin format. The four players in the pod play each other and the one with the best record will advance to the round of sixteen. The format then changes to a sixteen-man single elimination bracket.
With less than a full field of 64 (or nearly 64), the format is single elimination brackets with no pods and no round robin format.
