Saturday Field Day Champions

Saturday Field Day Champions

Saturday Field Days have held and continue to hold a place of high esteem in Jackson Park Men’s Golf Club competitions. Prior to 2014, the club contributed much more to these payouts than to the other tournaments. In addition, by 2003, payouts for Low Gross and Low Net of Field were a separate category, not included in the payouts by flight. Since 2014, the club contributed only slightly more for these tournaments and Low Gross and Low Net of Field have received bonuses of $20 in addition to their winnings in their flights.

In 2016, blue tees became the default tees for Field Days. By 2019, eligible players could play from white or gold. In 2022, beginning with Summer Field Day, blue tees were obligatory for single digit handicap golfers, and most of the rest played from the white tees. The current practice is for the first two flights to play from the blue tees and the rest to play from the white, or gold, if eligible.

In 2023, players who were Low Gross of Field from the blue tees in 2022 qualified for the Match Play Gross Championship. In 2023, Spring Field Days were made the qualifiers to fill the remaining open spots in the Match Play Gross Championship.
