Stableford October 12

October 16, 2024

Congratulations to Jaron Tsukamoto (35) and Mark Dickhoff (38) for winning High Gross and High Net points today, respectively.

There were 69 players in the Stableford, the same number as at Fall Field Day, oddly enough. The good news is that this is a new record for the October tournament, the previous high being 59 in 2022.

Saturday Tournament Director Dan Fabela and Tim Rowe on Sunday at Gamble Sands played in the finals of the WA Golf Men’s Net Four-Ball Match Play tournament. This was the second year in a row that teams from the Jackson Park Men’s Golf Club made it to the finals. Last year it was Jack Hartley and Jake Zingler. Congratulations to Dan and Tim this year.

It was a weird day out there regarding pace of play. There were fivesomes and some slow foursomes, but nothing too crazy. Due to the odd circumstances, there were no “Pace of Play” penalties.

The Order of Merit for the Saturday League: The top three money winners in contention for the honor are Dan Fabela ($739.5), Doug Jones ($734.5), and Kyle Miller ($670.83). All three have demonstrated their ability to excel in tournament play. Dan was 2023 Sandbagger of the Year and 2024 Net Match Play Champion, Doug was the 2018 and 2021 Tuesday top money winner and the 2024 Legends Net finalist, and Kyle was the 2023 Saturday top money winner as well as the 2024 Gross Match Play Champion.

After ten stroke play tournaments and six match play tournaments, there is one more Saturday Tournament to close out the year: the Turkey Shoot on November 9. Registration opens Monday, 10/21, at 6 pm. Hope to see you all there.
