Two-Day Stroke Play Championship Results

Congratulations to our three new champions. Joe Zucker won Low Gross of Field at 153 and is our new Stroke Play Champion. He is also our reigning Club Champion thanks to his Gross Match Play win in 2017. Craig Verlinden and Matthew Stutzenberger tied for Low Net of Field at 141. This is the second time Low Net did not break par. The first time was in 2014 when Brett Polen won in a field of 17 with a score of 142.

We had 39 participants (more accurately, 38.5 since one person could play only one day), our second highest number. We had 41 players last year. Thanks to payouts for three different competitions (Saturday, Sunday, and combined), 76.92% of the field earned payouts, not counting honey pots. Total purse was $2,477, with honey pot points totaling $925. For a further breakdown of tournament statistics, see below. For complete results, go to golfgenius.com and enter GGID “Jackson_Men” and scroll down to the Jackson Park Classic. (In Golf Genius, honey pot payouts are called points and payouts for placing in the tournament are called purse.)

Thanks to Jason Hart–Tournament Director, Kathy Hart–General Manager, and her staff, and to all who participated in making this seventh Two-Day Stroke Play Championship a great success.

Next up on July 7 is Summer Field Day Celebrating Honorary Member Dick Rovig. Dick served the Men’s Club as Secretary and Website Manager for many years and is now the Club Historian.
